Hello everyone,
Has been a while after my last shoot but I am back and on track ^^

The title of the project is is "Fairytale Marks the Spot" (FMS)

This is the first picture of a set we shot last weekend. (have about 50 more to go through with about 10 models was the biggest production i did.)

Was pretty tiring but fun to do it. We have been waiting for this set for about 2 months now since I was away in Turkey.
I had some wonderful people working with me and three of my mates at my dorm helped me out besides my regular assistant Mark.If you would like to see the backstage shot they are up on my facebook page ([link])

The dress is from New York Couture bought it about a month ago and no it wasn't ruined ^^
The location is Trent Park,London which is my school campus (Middlesex University)
She is in fact on a water bed in the middle of the lake while we are by the edge with 2 lights with 100* soft boxes (it was my first time with artificial light ever so be nice ;)).
She was freezing but she is a great model and said no every time we asked her if she needed a break.
She is a great model and very fun to work with.

The general idea of the project is the love conception in fairytales. We started from imagining how the characters will feel with the expectations on them in fairytales.

I like how most of them turned out. This one was particularly hard with the horrible wind! I am certain UK hates me. I have been here for 15 days every day was sunny and calm. I wake up for the shoot and it's raining with horrible wind. So much that two people had to hold the lights. They kept hitting the ground and tried to jump in to the lake twice giving me a heart attack!
Though they ended up unharmed. (Thank God)

Oh and apparently my light transmitter doesn't fit my own camera (damn u sony for making everything different!) and me being the usual slacker I never checked it. So I had to use a different camera. Thanks to Bart who saved the day by lending me his. Was hard to get used to it right on the day but I think it turned out alright. (Well most of it ;))

Mark was carrying her around in the water so the dress doesn't get ruined. (<3 Mark)

Hope you enjoy this. I am easing into my usual routine of photography after my huge break. Please let me know if you like it. Can use the encouragement ;)

FMS-Pertinacious Illusions by =AsliKolcu The suggester says: "Very emotive and full of love... I so love the way the model look to be so desperate but having still so much pride, like, "bye bye bad world, I'm living and you will regret me". Perfect!" I can't stop looking at this photograph. Seriously. I've seen some pretty unique pictures in my life but this one catches my interest the most. I love how the mattress has sheets on it to make it more homey though really everything is outside floating in a river. I love the look the woman is giving, like she's in distress yet she's calm about it. The dirty heart shaped stop sign really peaks my curiosity. I can see that this message is saying we as people take love from fairy tails and turn it into something that we may possibly have in life when, in reality, doesn't really exist. I love the strong impact of this and it really made m stop to think. Keep on taking more of these.

This reminds me of Ophelia's death scene in Hamlet so much! It's so much like how I imagine it!
"There is a willow grows askant a brook,
That shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream.
Therewith fantastic garlands did she make,
Of crow-flowers, nettles, daisies, and long purples,
...Clambering to hang, an envious silver broke,
When down here weedy trophies and herself
Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide,
And mermaid-like awhile they bore her up,
...Till that her garments, heavy with their drink,
Pulled the poor wretch from her melodious lay
To muddy death."

She falls from a willow tree, collecting flowers & she lands in the stream & just lays there allowing herself to slowly sink.
This is a beautiful photo. Sorry for such a long comment!

Actually that meant a lot to me. As ashamed I am of that I didnt know the story just herd the Ophelia before and so many people told me this reminded them of Ophelia and I kept going "Hmm I should check that out at one point" xD
