Model/photo/edit/styling/make up Me

"I have been hiding for almost two years and it is time to come out
I haven't been taking self portraits cause well I didn't want to show 'me'
So here goes nothing
Lets say I am peeking out even though it is quite hard"

As you can see trying something new Let me know what you think

PS' Yes those are tiny real heart tattoos
I have not photoshopped them in

I like the texture, and the expression of the hand. also without eyes, lips and nose are interestingly effective.

at first look it seems like nothing new or special, but taking time shows some unique details about it.

thank you for the detailed comments its hard to come across these on deviantart ^^
I personally think it is nothing special tbh it is just a simple self portrait it is more personal than special to me since I have a hard time showing myself a bit
The new part on the other hand for me was that I don't do simple and ordinary portraits a part of me constantly nags me about adding props etc so I am trying to learn simple can sometimes be beautiful as well hehe

so what is your definite aim for this new approach? catching something special in simplicity or exposing urself in a more complicated way?
:iconaslikolcu:
Well to be honest in this one it was just to get up and do something instead of sitting there and thinking i should start doing more self portraits Self portraits to me are self exploration simple or complicated

I was actually taking one to see and try some new editing techniques Most of the time my edits are really improvisations I started keeping track of what I am doing in PS and wanted to try a retro inspired edit with textures just to see what I come up with
Before I took a break two years ago I got a lot of help with editing and didn't really take photography seriously so never bothered to learn anything Now I want to learn and see what path I want to pursue and experimenting is the best way for me to find out

I don't have a definite aim for it yet not for self portraits at least
I just started without one and thought to myself "Well we will see where this ends up taking me"

doing smtg instead fo sitting sounds good for me expecially nowadays.

having not definite aims but some intuitions is similar for me. or maybe this is general, but I am asking this question often to ppl, because I d like to see the results of a certain aim which I never had.
:iconaslikolcu:
Well I can tell you my aim in general for photography so you can see if i fail miserably or make it ;)

I will be dividing it to two since I need to do it as a job as well but for the personal part I am done with dress someone and point and shoot tests I am sick of them plus that's not my thing
I love writing and what was special to me about shooting was the fact I "wrote" stories in the frames Yeah all kind of photography can contain stories but thats not what I mean I like having the tiny details when you pay attention that tells a story All the hidden meanings and elaborate sets that not everyone thinks of My aim this year to is to get back to that I have 3 or 4 pics I ever did that satisfy me at that front

So yea here u go an aim from me ;)

.) ok.

give me an example u feel u succeded most.

what if writing before shooting? have u ever done this? I mean to catch the facts u u found in literature by photoghraphy.

those two would the most but succeeded well not really i can find several flaws especially technically

I actually never did but dont think i would cause the two processes are very separate for me I can't write about what I shot or shoot about what i wrote Well ofc I can but it would deviate from the reason I do them
Both are ways to express myself, an outlet for me so when I do get it out that is it
However the process for writing and photography is exactly the same for me the only thing that might seem different is with one i think with visual elements the other i think with words

you meant there are different tools for each, words or visual elements, yes, this is right. I believe, beyond tools, all the art fields have an intersection, meaning.

these photos seem really spent effort on them. they are detailed. even in an obsessive way maybe. (this is good)
